This is the electromagnet that mounts behind the clutch pulley. If your clutch seems to turn off while mowing or won’t come back on when hot, chances are you need this part. It will fit JD models 316 (2 cylinder), 318, 420, 430 and 317 with replacement Onan engine. If you have an first generation machine with only one wire to the clutch then you will also need an AM104901 wire harness to convert to this new coil.
