Low Cost Lawnmowers

1964 Sears Custom 600 Lawn Garden Tractor with Mower Deck. This tractor has been stored inside since Ive had it, probably the last 10 -12 years, I dont know the history before that. The replacement Tecumseh 6hp engine runs with no blue smoke but misses a lot. I cleaned the fuel system and rebuilt the carburetor to get it running. The problem could be ignition. I didnt do any work to the points or ignition system to try to fix the problem. The tractor can be driven but the engine doesnt run right. The transmission works in all gears. The shifter is sloppy, so if you shift diagonally, it can get stuck in 2 gears at once. The steering operates nicely. The clutch linkage and brake appear to work ok. All four rims and tires appear to be original, in good shape, and hold air. The rear tires have no cracks. The front tires have some small cracks at the bottom of some of the grooves. The front grill casting is not cracked or broken. The right side cover that goes above the foot rest is included. It can be seen lying in the grass on the right side of the tractor in one of the pictures. Someone has welded the mower deck lift brackets where they hang below the frame so they wont float. This can be seen in some of the pictures. A different lift handle with linkages is included to replace the welded parts to make it like original. It can be seen lying in the grass on the left side of the tractor in one of the pictures. The mower deck appears to be complete. It has multiple repairs where the aluminum was welded nicely. It also has some cracks that are not repaired. The deck appears to be a slightly newer than this tractor, the front bracket from the original deck is included in this sale. If the front brackets are swapped this deck should bolt up to this tractor. The serial number tag for this deck is on the left side of the rear bracket. The serial number on this deck is 917 99620.
