I have designed it so that if your hood hinges are broken and your hood wants to tip the whole way forward this will catch the hood and keep it from falling front. These are very tough bumpers and have been designed well to protect your front hood and plastic bumper assembly.

The right side of the metal bumper is cut out so the exhaust can be vented out without any interference. These are not a john deere design but ours since we have had customers wishing they could protect their hoods from breaking. We have had noticed that the hood can still get warm so we are now including an exhaust deflector with this bumper. You can see how it is to be installed from the pictures. You will recieve the bumper, exhaust deflector and mounting hardware. We have noticed on some of the bumpers that the distance between the arms is a little wider than the frame you can either put longer bolts in or bend the arms together slightly to make it fit better if your’s happens to be one. This will fit the following john deere models lx172, lx173, lx176, lx178, lx186, lx188 gt242 gt262 and gt275. It will not fit any other model tractor.
