I believe this wheel horse is a 1961 suburban. It is in fantastic condition for its age. It runs great, normally starts 1st or second pull. Very little surface rust on this tractor. Still has its serial number tag in place. Has all original shielding in place. The rear fenders are not original but are wheel horse. The mower deck is original but does need work. It runs and drives great but uses oil. It does smoke sometimes worse then other times. But honestly runs like new. I ALSO HAVE THE ORIGINAL BOOK TO GO WITH IT. This is a mower deck from a Sears Suburban garden tractor. Everything moves freely and the bearings are tight. It is very solid and is not rotted out. I didn’t notice any weld patches on it either. Up for sale is a sears suburban 12 with a 12hp cast iron tecumseh and the good heavy duty 6 speed high low transmission. It has been repainted but it looks pretty good, not show quality but i have seen worse. The seat is in great shape and all the original tires hold air with a set of original wheel weights. This is a very heavy duty garden tractor with a 3 point hitch and mower deck 44in i think. The mower starts and runs great but does smoke. Probably could use a set of rings or just use it the way it is. The deck bearings are a little noisy and the generator light is always on. I changed the oil and put a brand new battery in it. If you are going to mow with it i would recommend replacing a couple dry bearing on the deck and try to figure out the charging system. Overall it isn’t a bad old garden tractor.
