John Deere Transmission 5 Speed Peerless New STX38 30 MIA10319. STX30 and STX38 and maybe others. Lawn Mower Parts & Accessories. For sale is a brand new in the box transmission assembly for a JOHN DEERE lawn tractor. The transmission is a 5 speed forward and 1 speed reverse. This will fit a lot of models including STX30 and STX38 and maybe others. Also on the side of your transmission there should be a peerless number if you could send that also that would help us out. If it doesn’t require this number it would take the other listing that I have posted. The peerless model number is 930-012B and 920-017. The JOHN DEERE part number is MIA10319 but was AM108833. This is a brand new complete transmission in the box. THIS WILL NOT REPLACE THE SPICER TRANSMISSION UNITS. FROM FACTORY THESE TRANSMISSIONS SHIFT VERY HARD AS YOU USE THEM THEY LOOSEN UP. THESE TRANSMISSIONS COME FILLED TO THE PROPER LEVEL WITH THE REQUIRED GREASE. THE MOUNTING HOLES DO NOT HAVE THREADS IN THEM AS THE BOLTS YOU USE ARE SELF-TAPPING AND WILL CREATE THE THREADS WHEN INSTALLED. PLEASE NOTE: Some real early STX models had a different transmission in it that the top main pulley was held on by a nut. If your pulley on top of the transmission is held on by a nut you are unfortunately out of luck. There used to be a retrofit kit available to make this transmission work in the older machines. That retrofit kit is no longer available from John Deere. There is also no other way around it to make it work without that kit.
