Changed both belts due to age. It starts runs and sounds. Not like modern emission control choked disposables. Intek starts instantly runs smoothly and does not smoke. Since this tractor is an older model it has the older style intek engines that were built to last. No plastic camshafts or paper thin crank cases. Start this thing up next to a newer single cylinder briggs and you will hear the difference. Hydro operates perfectly forward and reverse. 38inMow deck is rock solid engages smoothly no abnormal noises much thicker than current model decks. Best feature of this mower despite the strange color, is that it’s a Deere. When you need parts, just visit your local dealer and a competent, English speaking parts professional will hand you the CORRECT part over the counter that day. John deere sabre lawn / tractor mower in extremely good shape. Runs great, gear driven to tackle big hills and tow capacity. 14.5 horse has plenty of power. This tractor has more power than i ever needed. I just cut grass with it. This produces a nice lever cut. Comes with a technical manual. I have moved to a small yard and just done need something this big. Its been a great machine with out any issues. Just changed airfilter, spark plug, synthetic oil and gas filter, just done last week. This is very clean and should last the new owner a long time. Its used, but i dont know of any issues with it. I just cut my grass with it. New battery with cutoff switch installed for longer periods of inactiviity.
