“A” John Deere 12SB 14SM 14SB 14SE JX75 JX85 – 5 speed transmission – transmission taken apart, all parts cleaned and inspected – backlash checked and adjusted with custom washers – both input shaft bearings replaced with new C3 quality bearings – bench tested and was working – re-assembled using peerless bentonite grease same as OEM – axle has very little wear – case halves cleaned and sealed with dirko gasket maker – nut will need to be impacted on or input gear will get damaged – shaft keyway is good, and transmission comes with a new woodruff key – last 5 pictures are stock. The one on the left is a JX75 and the one on the right is a JX85. They came from the estate of a landscaper and are two of three I acquired. Both pull smooth and turn over but I can not get them to start. I tried until my hand was sore and gave up. There must be some trick to these but I couldn’t figure it out. The JX85 has wheels that have damage and or cuts to the tread. There is normal surface rust on the metal handles.
