FRONT BUMPER for your. John Deere Lawn Tractor. This Listing is for the Black Front Bumper NOT the Hood. Up for sale is the latest in John Deere aftermarket accessories…. It’s a front bumper for your JD that you shouldn’t be without!! Protect your investment with this HEAVY DUTY front bumper. NO expense was spared when these were designed! They’re constructed out of CNC laser cut 3/8 thick. NOT 3/16 or thinner like the competition. It has 2 laser cut mounting points on each side of plate that bolt together to the existing holes in the frame. The bumper also has 2 “tabs” that are welded-on to help position the bumper and also use the existing holes that are in the hood hinge/stopper. There is NO drilling required! The front Bumper (piece of pipe) is made out of schedule 40 pipe. NOT “Tubing/Exhaust Pipe”, which is less than a 1/16 thick. DON’T BE FOOLED by the competition when they say “Heavy gauge” steel…. There is a reason why they don’t tell you the thickness of the material they’re using! Me on the other hand, I like to be honest with my customers right up front, and my FEEDBACK shows it!! Below I have listed all of the models this bumper will fit, and it will only fit the LX and GT models listed below. PLEASE NOTE : The hood does clear the bumper when the hood is all the way open. I apologize, the pictures are a bit deceiving. If you are considering on purchasing one of these, but are still not 100% convinced, please keep in mind that these bumpers are manufactured in the State of Wisconsin where John Deere equipment has been built for over 50 years! I would also like to mention that these were designed NOT to obstruct your view. They don’t wrap all the way around the front like some of the others I’ve seen. Please take a look at the last few pictures I have in my listing. You’ll see that even when your body is tilted to one side, you still have a view of what is in the front of tires. This in turn, will allow you to get closer to objects without hitting them while still protecting the most important hood and front panel. WHAT COMES IN THE BOX. One, HEAVY DUTY front bumper powder coated with John Deere “Approved” Medium Gloss Black (very close to a satin finish), and One hardware kit. Everything you need to install the bumper on your tractor. I do not include a deflector with this bumper, because it “may” not be a necessity for your style of mowing/driving. Will fit the following. LX172, LX173, LX176, LX178, LX186 and LX188. GT242, GT262 and GT275. There will be listings for more John Deere front bumpers! When you receive the hood it will be in two halves, the upper and lower. You will have to assemble the hood halves as well as apply the decals. This Is A Genuine John Deere Part. This hood assembly fit perfectly & made my John Deere GT275 look like a new one! It is a quality piece. Best price I could find. Unit was new and original john deere needs to add a cable with the hood so all the weight that is on the hinges is reduced when hood is opened not all the way. I used a thick nylon string. From jefferson city mo. Our little GT242 had been rode hard between trees on a Christmas tree farm, resulting in a cracked hood that finally began disintegrating.
