The 60-inch high-capacity deck is stamped from heavy, 9-gauge, 0.150-in. (3.8-mm) steel to minimize the number of welds and provide a smooth underside for reduced material buildup. Deep-deck design delivers excellent airflow, so material can be processed quickly and efficiently. Wider and higher discharge opening provides even clipping dispersal for an excellent finished appearance in all conditions. Durable plastic deflector spreads grass clippings evenly across the lawn, is hinged, and can be raised to minimize the storage space required. 1-inch cold-forged spindles are heat-treated for strength and are supported by ball bearings. Front edge is raised above the blade plane to allow even cutting of tall grass. Blade overlap is greater than many conventional decks, for a clean cut. Mower can side-discharge or mulch. Thought I’d never give up old faithful but just bought a house that came with a diesel tractor and fell in love with it. If you know Ingersoll / Case tractors contact me, no need to read on. Hydraulic drive and lift. Try blowing snow with a manual lift snowblower, especially something built for duty. Comes with mower deck and snowcaster (that’s what Ingersoll called their snowblower). And a set of tire chains. The snowcaster is a little rusty looking but functions flawlessly and throws snow to beat the band. I will sell the tractor and mower deck without the snowcaster and save that until fall/winter but good luck finding one when you need it. I won’t sell the snowcaster first however. The fenders and mower deck are heavy gauge steel, bent and welded, not flimsy stamped sheet metal. Both axles are cast iron and built like they used to build them. Swapping the mower deck and the snowcaster is quick and takes no tools. She isn’t quite as pretty as she was in her teens but still turns heads from people who have good taste. They all look good on their internet pictures right? It’s grass and dust free for picture day (today) but the grass around here seems to be on its puberty growth spurt so I’m still mowing grass like mad with it so she might be dusty but never tired. Every year I promise to let her get cosmetic surgury on the her seat cover but it just hasn’t happened yet. Inexpensive, I know, but life gets in the way. I’ll drop a little if you don’t want the snowcaster or chains. I’ll get a pic of the snowcaster tomorrow. Did I mention that there is a high and low range on this puppy? This will not only speed up those trips to the corner store for a Nehi soda, but will either delight or terrify your grandkids that think they want a ride. It has the Industrial Commercial Briggs cast iron block 16HP single cylinder electric start engine directly coupled to Gravely’s famous 8-speed all gear transmission with instant forward and reverse. This 8163 has the optional and convenient hydraulic lift option too. It comes with a good working 50 mower deck (has hole on one side). Once started, it runs well but I suggest a carb and ignition tune up to get it starting/running perfect as it misses a little under low speed. High speed it’s fine. The gears shift nice and the clutches have plenty of life. The tires have good tread and hold air. It does include the red factory hitch.
