The engine is a Kohler 16 hp single cylinder. The battery is weak but could possibly take a charge and the headlights operate. The transmission is a hydro and operates forward and back as it should. The mower deck operates with a bit more vibration than normal and will most likely need a bearing or spindle replaced. The discharge ring which is used for a bagger or mulch kit was repaired at one time. The seat is torn but still fully functional. The hood is in fair condition with a crack on the very top. This could be plastic welded and be fine for years. The tires are good and all hold air. The steering system seems to be in good working condition. This tractor with a good service may be ready for the mowing season. I will assist with loading onto a semi or trailer. You are encouraged to. This is a 1970 john deere 140 H-3 garden tractor in the 25,000 sn range. It has lights with an excellent panel, good grille, decent hood (has had minor repair) with original 48 mower deck that is solid but the covers need repair. It has a new battery and starts and runs excellent. This has a 14 horse kohler. Located at 45142 Lynchburg about an hour from cincy or Dayton. It is in good shape for being 46 but do not expect a new tractor! These were built way better that what they build nowdays! This is the Briggs and Stratton 18HP engine that was removed from the mower listed below. This engine started and ran fine. The specifications are as follows: model 350447, type 1111-E1, code 040030511. It presently has an oil filter on it that should be replaced. This engine includes the 12 volt starter, air cleaner, and fuel pump. It does not include the muffler or fuel tank. Notice: I ran this engine only lightly to make sure it ran and did not work it hard. Failure to add oil before starting may potentially ruin the engine. Remember: This is a used engine.
