This is an early 1970’s vintage Snapper riding mower I inherited some time back. It had a blown engine so I replaced it with a brand new 8hp Vertical shaft Briggs&stratton engine. The mower is in good condition, it’s been stored indoors out of the weather, it’s dirty from sitting, but not deteriorated. The engine has maybe 10 minutes of run time on it, just enough so I knew it was a good motor out of the box, that was maybe 12 years ago, so ethanol fuel hasn’t eaten it’s carburetor, and I never got around to hooking up a fuel tank. These flat head Briggs engines made in the USA are not so easy to find new these days. I made sure to spin it over a few times a year so nothing got stuck. The old engine had a bad knock, but it ran well enough for me to mow some grass so I know the machine itself is good. I can assist you in loading it using a forklift, other parts machines are still available. Under the dust and mouse poo this is still a nice machine, it belonged to an older friend of mine who passed, it was his favorite grass cutting machine. A project that needs finishing and I have no time for it, plus I need room in the shed. \I did not get around to hooking up a gas tank on this, otherwise the engine is fully installed, I ran it off a gas bottle just long enough to be sure it was running well, and the machine would function with it. Original motor was 7hp, the replacement is 8hp. The item “1970’s Snapper riding mower with new Briggs 8 hp engine” is in sale since Tuesday, December 15, 2015.
